(1883 - 1967) - Inducted in 2002
Fred Hoysted's record is unprecedented in Victorian training history. He won a record 17 Trainers' Premierships between 1933 and 1958 including 20 individual two-year-old winners in 1953/54. Hoysted trained the great Rising Fast to win the 1955 Caulfield Cup and showed his versatility by training the winners of two Grand National Steeplechases. In recent years he was honoured with the introduction of the Fred Hoysted Award which is presented each year to Victoria's outstanding trainer. Hoysted was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2002.
