Dubbed "The Cups King", Bart Cummings has achieved an unsurpassed training record in feature races, most notably in the Melbourne Cup. Cummings has trained the winners of a record 12 Melbourne Cups and in five of those wins, he also trained the runner-up.His other notable achievements include:
The many champions to have come under Cummings' care include Galilee, Let's Elope, Saintly, Light Fingers, Taj Rossi, Think Big and So You Think. His Group 1 wins now total 266 at the end of 2013. Cummings was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2001. He was awarded Legend status in 2008.
