Born in Queensland in 1922, Neville Sellwood was an instant success in the saddle and was to prove himself one of the world's leading jockeys of his time.
He won six Sydney Premierships and most of Australia's premier races including two Melbourne Cups, three Caulfield Cups, three Cox Plates and the inaugural Golden Slipper on the mighty Todman.
He then ventured overseas winning an English Derby and topping 100 winners in a season in France before tragically losing his life in a race fall in 1962.
Sellwood was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2002.
