Racing Victoria has conducted a series of Respectful Workplace workshops at various racecourses across the state in 2024 to help leaders within racing better understand their role to cultivate respect within the workplace.
Facilitated by iHR Australia’s Stephen Bell the workshops ensure participants understand their own role in preventing and responding to workplace behaviour that presents a risk to the organisation and its people.
The practical sessions provide real life scenarios acted out to given participants a real sense of how to handle particular situations and take those learnings back into their stable environment.
Topics covered at each session include:
- Preventing, reporting, and responding appropriately to discrimination, bullying and harassment
- What the law says
- Effective leadership and positive workplace cultures
- How to identify inappropriate and risky workplace behaviours
- Practical support and resolution strategies
This work forms part of a broader education campaign for our industry participants with people leadership responsibilities.
