Update on upcoming race meetings

Racing Victoria (RV) wishes to provide an update on upcoming race meetings following significant rainfall across the state.

Wodonga was inspected this morning ahead of its meeting tomorrow (Saturday, 15 October) after receiving 57mm of rain in the past 48 hours.

Due to significant surface water, the track has been deemed not safe for racing and the meeting has been abandoned.

Any horses entered at Wodonga can nominate as normal entries at Geelong on Wednesday, 19 October until 12pm today.

The Bendigo track will be inspected later this morning ahead of its race meeting tomorrow after receiving 120mm of rain in the last two days. Should that meeting be unable to proceed, it will be transferred to the synthetic track at Sportsbet-Ballarat.

Horsham is currently rated a Heavy 10 ahead of its Cup meeting on Sunday, 16 October. Stewards will inspect the surface this afternoon and provide a further update at that time.

Stewards have also inspected Alexandra ahead of its meeting on Cox Plate Day (Saturday, 22 October). Following significant rainfall, the surface won’t be suitable for racing next week with the decision made to abandon the meeting.

RV’s Racing Operations team will look to divide races where possible to assist affected horses, while continuing to monitor conditions over the coming days and the potential impact on scheduled race meetings.
