Minimum Age Requirements
The minimum age to obtain a license is now 15 years old, or between 14 and 15 years of age if it falls within the Family Business exemption below:
Family business exemption for children aged between 14 and 15 years old;
Subject to meeting all relevant requirements in this Stable Employment Registration Policy, a child aged 14 to 15 years old may be registered as a Stable Employee if:
the child is working in a family business for the purposes of the Child Employment Act 2023 (Vic); and
the Applicant provides Racing Victoria’s Licensing Team with relevant declarations and warranties regarding the child’s employment regarding their duties and working conditions as specified by the EGM – Integrity Services.
