Safeguarding Young People Statement

Racing Victoria Group (RV Group) is committed to promoting and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people who participate in education and training programs and other activities, and who may access services, facilities, and events for which we are responsible.

Our safeguarding policies and procedures prioritise, promote, and protect the rights of children and young people in our care. They focus on the prevention of abuse via a child safe culture.

In the event a concern or allegation is raised in relation to child abuse that has occurred within our scope of responsibility, we will treat the mater sensitively and seriously, paying attention to the specific and potentially diverse needs of the child/young person. Maters will be investigated in accordance with legislation and our policies.

As the peak regulatory authority for thoroughbred horse racing in Victoria, we will actively prioritise and promote the safety and wellbeing of children and young people in our care, and influence our key stakeholders, which include clubs, licensed and registered persons to take direct responsibility for providing safe environments for children and young people in their care and employ.
