Learning Portal  

Racing Victoria is committed to providing ongoing professional development to keep our industry safe and sustainable. Some courses are mandatory and must be completed to work in the Victoria Thoroughbred Racing Industry.

This means that you will be required from time to time, to undertake education courses through the RV Learning Portal.

RV's Learning Portal houses mandatory and non-mandatory modules required for completion by all employees and participants. The portal is hosted by ELMO, a cloud-based Learning Management System that can be accessed from any device.

There are a variety of courses currently on the RV Learning Portal, and two are mandatory courses that all participants must complete to fulfil their licensing obligations:

• Equine Welfare and;

• Workplace Safety & Behaviours.

Mandatory courses must be completed to be registered or licensed by RV.

For the 2025-26 racing season the following courses MUST be completed. If you have not completed the courses prior to renewing for the 2025-26 season:

• A renewal application will not be issued to you, and;

• You will not be able to renew your licence/registration and therefore, not work in the industry

The courses take approximately 20 minutes to complete.

Login Quick Guide

1. Login at Racing Victoria Learning Portal then select Cancel.

2. You will be asked to log in with your username and password.

3. Your username is the same as the number stored in Racing Australia’s SNS database and can also be found in your welcome email and all other course correspondence sent through the Learning Portal.

4. Enter the password that you have set up previously or if you have not set up a password, please follow the instructions in the help guide.
